Eligibility & Selection of Applicants

Thank you for considering our program for residency! We appreciate your interest.

Interviews are by invitation and are sent out on a rolling basis. For the 2023-2024 season, all interviews will be conducted in a virtual format. Webex is our application of choice for virtual interviews. Thalamus is our application of choice for inviting and scheduling applicants.

Our program follows the same guidelines set forth by Summa Health in their Eligibility policy.

The following information may be helpful to you in the application process:

  • Required
    • three letters of recommendation (at least one letter from a family medicine physician with whom you have worked)
    • Curriculum Vitae
    • Current photograph
    • Medical Student Performance Evaluation (Dean's Letter)
    • Medical School Academic Transcript
    • Personal statement with reference to your interest in Family Medicine
    • Passage of USMLE or COMLEX scores - either is acceptable, with passage on first two attempts (prior to NRMP match deadline)
    • Documented leadership roles/activities, desired but not required
    • Documented community service/volunteerism activities desired but not required
    • All international medical graduates
      • Passage of USMLE steps 1 & 2
      • Valid ECFMG certificate (prior to the NRMP match deadline)
      • U.S. clinical experience is desired but not required
