Drawing on over 40 years of experience, Dr. Parran will share his insights into 12 step recovery and its connection to modern addiction medicine.

About the Tour

Summa Health is dedicating to preserving the significant work of Sister Ignatia. On the self-guided tour, you'll enjoy:

  • The Heritage Center, located in The Juve Family Behavioral Health Pavilion, pays tribute to the history of Sister Ignatia and the treatment of alcoholics, and the relationship between Dr. Bob and the founding of Alcohols Anonymous.
  • The Reflection Center is a non-denominational chapel, where visitors can take a moment to reflect and pray. Windows in the Reflection Center overlook the beautiful Serenity Garden, which features 12 granite benches representing the 12 steps of recovery for AA.

In addition, a video interview with Sister Ignatia will be showcased in the Dr. Joseph D. Varley Conference Center, across from the Heritage Center, along with other AA artifacts displayed for viewing.

Summa Health is proud to be part of the rich history of Alcoholics Anonymous. We invite you to visit us on Founders' Day to learn more.
