At Summa Health, we know a breast cancer diagnosis can be frightening, perhaps even overwhelming. Your diagnosis may involve multiple specialists and treatment choices. Your options may include procedures that are not familiar to you, such as partial mastectomy/lumpectomy or nipple or skin sparing mastectomy with immediate/delayed reconstruction. Treatment also may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy or targeted therapies.
The Summa Health Breast Multidisciplinary Clinic team of cancer experts will design a coordinated, comprehensive and personalized plan of care for you using nationally recognized best practice guidelines.
Our MDC team brings our caring team of passionate breast cancer experts from different specialties together to review all of your clinical information and work with you to determine an individualized plan of care. Our cancer care experts have been awarded the highest standard of breast care by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC).

In the Breast MDC, you are an active participant in your cancer treatment decision-making. You will be asked to complete several screenings with our breast navigation team to help us assess all of your needs. You will meet in-person or virtually with the specialists, to discuss your care options and the resources available to you. You will participate in open communication with our cancer experts and through shared decision making, an individualized plan of care will be developed. We encourage you to bring a support person to join in the discussion as well.
