Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer
Tony is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer, a role he took on in late 2020. He has more than 20 years of experience in progressive Human Resource leadership roles.
Prior to his current role, Tony was Summa’s system director of employee relations and absence management where he ensured the fair, efficient and effective implementation and application of Summa’s employment-related policies, procedures, practices and collective bargaining agreement for non-bargaining unit and bargaining unit staff. He is an expert on employment matters and regularly counseled leaders and staff on workplace conflict resolution to help facilitate healthy work relationships.
Tony also spent four years as the HR manager of Summa Rehab Hospital, where he spearheaded all HR activities to open a freestanding 60-bed rehab hospital. He was involved with all HR aspects, from development of HR operational policies and employee engagement surveys, to administration of payroll and performance improvement plans.
Before joining Summa Health, Tony served in the U.S. Air Force for more than twenty years in a variety of roles. Initially, in Security Forces and then as a recruiter. He focused his efforts on fostering community and organizational relationships to fill critical Air Force vacancies throughout the world. Throughout his tenure, he had the opportunity to build a number of high-performing recruiting teams and develop organizational development and effective training programs tailored to organizational and individual needs.
Tony earned a bachelor of business administration human resource management from Columbia Southern University in Orange Beach, Ala. He also received his master’s degree from Columbia Southern University and holds several industry designations.
