
Embracing the healing arts in Williams Tower
The Dr. Gary B. and Pamela S. Williams Tower on the Summa Health System — Akron Campus embraces Summa's commitment to promoting a healthcare environment that surrounds and connects patients, visitors and staff with the healing powers of the arts.
Here are some notable facts about artwork in the Williams Tower:
- More than 100 unique pieces of art in various mediums.
- 64 featured artists — all with ties to Northeast Ohio.
- Each of the tower's 108 private patient rooms — plus every birthing unit and NICU room — features a piece of artwork to enhance the Summa Health experience for patients, visitors and staff.
- A signature commissioned piece highlighting the two-story main lobby by Diana Al-Hadid, a Kent State graduate and Canton native now working in New York.
- A 20-foot-tall sculpture outside the tower's main entrance — the new front door of the Akron Campus — by Stephen Canneto.
- Two works by renowned Akron artist Don Drumm featured in the Dr. Gary B. and Pamela S. Williams Center for Breast Health, in addition to his signature piece in the nearby Cooper Cancer Pavilion.
