Surgical Services Onboarding

In addition to the computer system access, physicians require an Operating Room and/or Endoscopy department orientation to be authorized to perform surgeries or procedures.

If you plan to work at multiple campuses, you will need to complete a department orientation at each one.

To schedule your department orientation please reach out to one of the following Nurse Managers for the respective campus you will be working at:

  1. Kellie Terry, Nurse Manager, Akron Operating Room
  2. Kevin Bohr, Nurse Manager, Barberton Operating Room & Endoscopy
  3. Tiffany Gopal, Nurse Manager, Akron Endoscopy
  4. Jessica Zack, Manager Surgical Services, Medina
  5. Barb Knoch, Manager Surgical Services, Wadsworth

Clinical Systems Access

When Summa Health System applicants become a credentialed physician/provider with Summa Health, they can receive access to our clinical information (computer) systems. These systems include:

  • Epic – electronic health record including all physician documentation.
  • Impax – the Radiology system
Remote access will also be established for the provider. This allows access to all the systems from home, office or any other location with a secure internet access site. High-speed internet access is recommended for optimal response time.

Epic Training

Training is required before access to Epic is granted. Training through EpicU is automatically assigned and available for use just prior to the provider's start date.

To log-in to EpicU, go to https://training.epic.com/EUT and use your Summa Health username and password to access the training. Your Summa Health username and password will be communicated to you by the Central Verification Office via email to the email address used when applying for Medical Staff membership (or privileges for APPs). Once training is complete, the IT&S Department will receive an email from EpicU confirming training completion and the Epic account will be authorized.
If you have questions about the training process or need access to training at an earlier date, please email the Epic Training Requests team at epictrainingrequests@summahealth.org.

Impax Training

If you do not have access to the other clinical applications, such as Impax, please reach out to the appropriate training contact below to schedule training:

If you have questions, please contact the Medical Staff Office at medicalstaffoffice@summahealth.org or 330.375.7672
