The conference schedule includes topics on basic sciences, journal review and in-depth discussions emphasizing clinical problems, pathophysiology and biomechanics. Numerous guest lecturers and visiting professors round out the academic program. Sports Medicine Fellows and Orthopaedic Residents at all levels participate in these programs through interesting case discussions or presentations of research work. These occur almost daily and are required.
Fellows are expected to do one presentation per month and one case presentation per month that are to be presented to the Primary Care Sports Medicine Staff.
Journal Club is held quarterly.
Fellows are also encouraged to attend the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program lectures when applicable. Fellows are welcome to attend all lectures, however some are more surgical and may not be as beneficial for the Sports Medicine Fellows.
