Summa Health Sports Medicine focuses on improving the health and wellness of our communities. In fact, it is the mission of our athletic training program to provide the highest quality healthcare to the student-athletes, coaches, faculty/staff and community at large. Summa Health athletic trainers are held to high expectations while performing their duties at high schools, middle schools and local YMCAs. Some of the services they provide include:

Meet Our Team

Summa Health athletic trainers are committed to maintaining continuing education requirements in order to advance skills and knowledge of best practices in the evaluation, treatment, care and prevention of athletic injuries. Highly qualified in the roles, they are:
  • Licensed by the State of Ohio by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers (OTPTAT) Board
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
  • Trained in ImPACT concussion testing
  • College graduates with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training (minimum)
