Summa Health hosts Annual Dinner in Florida

Summa Health is primed for an extraordinary 2019 and a bright future. Summa Health leaders shared this message with many of the health system’s closest friends and benefactors at Summa Health Foundation's annual outreach events in Naples, Florida.

On February 20, Cliff Deveny, M.D., Summa Health president and chief executive officer, welcomed guests via video to the Annual Dinner at the Ritz-Carlton Beach Resort. David Custodio, M.D., president, Summa Health System – Akron and St. Thomas Campuses, then talked about the opening of the new patient tower in Akron in late May. He also shared highlights of 2018, including the health system’s healthy financial outlook and several esteemed industry awards recognizing Summa for quality service.

Susana Bowling, M.D., medical director of the Neuroscience Institute, also greeted guests via video, introducing Alexander Venizelos, M.D., neurology specialist at Summa Health, who presented the latest advances at the Summa Health Neuroscience Institute.

On February 19, visionary Summa Health benefactor Ann Brennan hosted the Ladies Luncheon at her home in Naples. Melanie Lynch, M.D., medical director of the Dr. Gary B. and Pamela S. Williams Center for Breast Health, talked to guests about the healing arts in the clinical setting. Two leaders of the Summa Health Healing Arts Leadership Council — Christine Havice, Ph.D., volunteer chair, and Meg Stanton, curator — presented council members’ progress in incorporating the healing arts into the new tower and other Summa Health facilities
