“Two years ago, I was in a very bad, very dark place. I couldn’t breathe. I had no energy, I couldn’t sleep.” Unable to enjoy his favorite activities, Chuck Seeley turned to his Summa Health physicians for help. The cardiology team came to his rescue.
After an echocardiogram revealed a red flag, his physicians performed a transcatheter mitral valve repair, a minimally invasive procedure that allows for a shorter hospital stay and fewer complications. Doctors also implanted a pacemaker. Shortly after, he worked with the caregivers at the Summa Health Heart, Lung and Vascular Rehab Clinic to help him get stronger every day.
“So it was one long, great experience that helped get me back to where I wanted to be, where I needed to be, and I’m very grateful for that. And they gave me my life back. Because of that, my story goes on and believe me, I’m speaking from my heart.” In grateful appreciation, Chuck made a special gift to Summa Health by establishing the Seeley Family Fund for Interventional Cardiology Fellows.
